just happened to read about alleged so-called "journey method" of memorizing things... as a mathematician i generally find it important to avoid arbitrary memorization as opposed to learning based on understanding... but anyway it struck me how the journey method sort of reminds me of how i sometimes organize ideas in my head, associating each idea with where i was when i thought of it... but my method requires taking an actual journey... when i'm too sedentary then the ideas start piling up in the same place and getting mixed up with each other...
